Hi there, and welcome!
I'm Laverne Banderk, Registered Health and Nutrition Counsellor, living in Toronto with my husband and two children. I have always been interested in health and nutrition; and maintaining a happy, healthy lifestyle for myself, my family and my clients is my priority. I am constantly inspired by and curious about the benefits of whole, natural foods and how they improve our health and heal our bodies. I am also a fitness enthusiast who loves to move my body, get outside, and stay active with my family and friends.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, specializing in Geological Environmental Engineering, from Queen's University in 1996, after which I worked as a licensed Professional Engineer and project manager for an environmental consulting firm for 14 years. For the past 8 years, I have enjoyed keeping busy at home with my kids, but in May 2018, I decided to pursue my passion for wellness by going back to school to study Holistic Nutrition and Health Coaching with the NutraPhoria School of Holistic Nutrition. Through my studies, I gained a better understanding of the relationship between lifestyle, nutrition and overall health with a focus on the mind/body/spirit approach to health and wellness.
I completely understand how difficult it can be to navigate the nutrition world and all of the health and wellness advice and information we are bombarded with everyday. I would love to help you understand your specific health and nutrition needs, and create healthy habits for a happy life. Together we can assess your lifestyle, and create a wellness and dietary plan specific to your requirements, while addressing any preexisting conditions, sensitivities, health history, and obstacles that may have been holding you back.
